On your Domain 2003 Use Netdom Comand to Determining FSMO Role Holders By Type Netdom Query FSMO
Raise domain functional level Go to " Active Directory Users and computers " And Right Click on You Domain name Then Click on " Raise Domain Functional Level "
Then from the Drop-Down Menu select " Windows Server 2003 " and Click " Raise "
Raise Forest functional level Go to " Active Directory Domains and Trusts " And Right Click Active Directory Domains and Trusts Then Click on " Raise Forest Functional Level "
Then from the Drop-Down Menu select " Windows Server 2003 " and Click " Raise "
On The New OS " Windows 2012 "
Add New Role From " Server Manager "
Active Directory Domain Services
And
DNS
After Installation Succeeded
Promote This Server to A Domain Controller
Select " Add a Domain Controller to an Existing Domain " And Type The Admin " Full Username And Password " On Supply The Credentials to Perform This Operation
In Domain Controller Options
Type The DSRM Password
In Additional Options Specify Additional Replication Options by Select It in " Replicate From "
After All Prerequisite Checks Passed Successfully , Click " Install " To begin Installation
After adding a Windows Server 2012 Domain Controller to an existing domain you should also transfer the FSMO roles to the New Domain Controller
By Go to
Active Directory Users And Computers
And Right Click On Your domain Name and Select " Operation Masters "
To Transfer " RID" Press Change
To Transfer " PDC " Press Change
To Transfer " Infrastructure " Press Change
and To Transfer the " Domain Name " go to Avtive Directory Domain and Trust from Server Manager
and right Click and select " Operations Masters "
And Press Change
to Transfer the Schema Master Role go To Now on Windows 2003 and Register Schmmgmt.dll
By Type " regsvr32 schmmgmt.dll " on CMD
on MMC add snap-in
and Select " Active Directory Schema "
Right Click on Active Directory Schema
and Select Change Domain Controller
and Type the new Domain name
and transfer the schema Role to the new domain by go to Operations Masters
To Make Sure That All FSMO Roles transferred to the New Domain
Use The " Netdom " Command
Before Demote The Windows 2003 Domain Controller
Uncheck the Global Catalog Setting
from Active Directory Sites and Services
Go to Active Directory Sites and Services and Right Click on Your old Domain name then Properties
To Upgrade To Windows 2008 (In-Place ) On Windows Server 2003 DC do The below Steps 1- Raise domain functional level Go to " Active Directory Users and computers " And Right Click on You Domain name Then Click on " Raise Domain Functional Level "
Then from the Drop-Down Menu select " Windows Server 2003 " and Click " Raise "
2- Raise Forest functional level Go to " Active Directory Domains and Trusts " And Right Click Active Directory Domains and Trusts Then Click on " Raise Forest Functional Level "
Then from the Drop-Down Menu select " Windows Server 2003 " and Click " Raise "
3-On Windows Server 2003 DC, insert the Windows Server 2008 DVD, then open command prompt and change directory to d:\sources\adprerp directory. Here D:\ is my dvd rom drive. In your case do as appropriate. note: you need to log on to windows 2003 domain controller as enterprise admin to run these command open CMD Open CMD Now run following command adprep/ forestprep
and Press "C" and Enter To continue
After finishing forestprep run adprep/ domainprep
Now Go to your Windows 2008 DVD and run the installation

- Do not get the latest update for installations
Next : Select Windows Upgrade Ver
Next : accept the Licences terms
Next : Select Upgrade installation
